Boys & Girls Club of Highlands County Avon Park Unit

The Boys and Girls Club of Highlands County is the best after school program there is. It provides help in homework and helps kids about the real world. For example Smart Moves. Smart Moves is a program at the Avon Park Club everyday after school that teaches kids about there body, drugs, alcohol, and being responsible. Here at the Avon Park Club we ensure that kids of all ages get the attention they need in school also. We have tutoring here at the Avon Park Club. The tutoring provides help in reading, math, and homework. As a result of the tutoring every child at both Sebring and Avon Park Clubs have increased their grades as well as being in grade level.

By the end of April the Boys and Girls Club of Avon Park will have a web design class for students of all ages that are interested in computers. The class instructor (Mr.Bud) has taken out his time to show kids the value of knowing how and why we need technology.

Soon Avon Park Club will have a web development class with four students learning to design and build web pages.
